If you would like to invite a friend, business partner, or someone from your family to the Czech Republic and they do not come from a visa-waiver country, it’s possible to apply for a letter of invitation from the Foreign Police. If you only require one letter of invitation, it can be issued to you while you wait. If you wish to invite multiple people, i.e. you require multiple letters of invitation, then you will need to return to the Foreign Police within 2-3 working days to collect them. With this letter, an applicant can apply for a short-term visa at the Czech Embassy in his/her country of origin or residence. This applies to all countries that do not have visa-free Schengen travel with the Czech Republic. The first step is to fill out the invitation form electronically using the “ePozvání” service on the Public Administration Portal. This will generate a five-digit code, which you will need for your appointment at the Foreign Police.

For this, it’s important to ensure your registered address with the MOI and/or your accommodation confirmation are up-to-date. If you have not yet updated your MOI rental agreement, the Foreign Police may ask you to correct it first, which will delay the process.
